Suticake Sutimenyek Cafe

Small café, great service

Suticake Sutimenyek confirms that old cliché 'size isn't everything', for although tiny in size the coffee and cakes here are big on quality and taste; the customer service is also second to none which is what really sets this place apart from others in Eger.

Rustic furniture adds to the welcoming atmosphere

I am assured by my friend Ilkka, that they serve the best espresso here and I am not willing to contradict him as he is far more experienced in things like this.

What I can attest to, however, is the quality of the cakes/pastries. Unlike most cafés in Hungary, the owners make the cakes themselves rather than relying on outside suppliers.

The result is that the pastries are neither excessively sweet nor lathered with dubious cream substitutes, they can also be wonderfully inventive.

You won't find chilli/chocolate cake anywhere else

Suticake Sutimenyek is run by a husband and wife team who are a joy to be served by. Attentive to customer's needs and always willing to help in any way they can, they also speak good English which is unusual in Eger.

They will also do their best to answer any questions you have about the local area; a really great place to while away the afternoon hours.

Nice touches throughout the café
