'Brancs' (pronounced- brunch) sits above the castle, looking down on the onion domes of Eger. A green oasis of calm during the day, it comes alive at night with an eclectic array of programs and entertainment that will bring a smile to even the most worn out of sightseers.
Having opened in June 2016, Brancs has quickly established itself as one of the brightest and best places offering food and wine in Eger.
This can be partly attributed to the endeavours of owners, Kata and Ádél, who have bought with them extensive experience of the wine industry, design and finance. Add to this a gorgeous setting, an eye for the quirky and a flair for thinking outside the box and the result is a cafe/winebar/eatery second to none
Brancs is open:
There are organised wine tastings every Wednesday, where participants can try a number of wines complemented with appetising snacks while enjoying a question and answer session with any one of a number of noted winemakers.
All wines at tastings are available to buy at Brancs as are many wines from Eger and the other wine-growing regions of Hungary.
It is also possible to organise private winetasting sessions for small groups/family parties etc. Please contact us for more details and any special requirements you may have and be sure to give 24 hrs notice as the people at Brancs will need to arrange your session.
If you require a translator, please tell us.
Although you're not going to get a three course meal here, they do provide simple and tasty snacks that will do nicely for both lunch and a light evening meal. There is, of course, a great selection of coffees, teas and a very cool coffee machine.
Along with the wine, great entertainment and unique programs is Brancs' forte. There are all kinds of events on offer including yoga, therapy dog days, springboard, dancing, charity events, live music, poetry reading and lots, lots more.
To top it all off there is a fantastic garden with mature trees giving ample shade during the hot, summer months. An ideal place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing or to come and escape the mad city buzz of Budapest for a while.
