Afrodite Apartment House is a small, family run affair consisting of 6 self-contained apartments. Run by the same family since 1998, it offers guests a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy their stay in Eger.
It is its location that sets Afrodite apart from other accommodation providers, situated on the romantic cobbled street of Dobo Utca (street) and tucked under the the castle walls, it is perfect for visitors wishing to enjoy the sights and sounds of Eger.

Each of its six apartments is fitted out in a simple but functional style, and includes cable TV, a fully fitted kitchen/dining room (complete with fridge, stove and dishwasher), a private bathroom with a shower or bath and one or two bedrooms.
Simple but functional, most likely you won't use the kitchen as this part of town is awash with places to eat
Apart from the obvious attraction this place has to visitors interest in exploring historical Eger, there are plenty of other programs on offer in the area.
These include cycling, spa treatments, mountain walking, horse riding and the list goes on
The owner, Judit, speaks good English and is only too happy to help should you have any specific requests or wishes while on your stay.

Attached to the apartments is the Afrodite Cafe which is great for a cooling drink during the summer heat.
Also available is parking close to the hotel, a laundry service should you require one and breakfast served in your room is also included in the apartment price.
I have stayed at the Afrodite Apartment house and personally know the owner, so I am not going to give my opinion on the place as it would be biased. Therefore I have consulted other sources for their experiences: positive and negative.
What you find below are two columns: one outlining the positives of the Afrodite Apartment House and the other the negatives, as expressed by the guests. This information is collated from hotel review websites such as tripadvisor.com and booking.com.
Huge and tasty breakfast
Noisy (due to location)
Apartments need updating
The Afrodite Apartment House gets a score of 80% on tripadvisor.com (calculated from 5 guest reviews) and on booking.com a score of 8.3/10 (calculated from 106 reviews).
my reading of the reviews, most guests are delighted with the Afrodite Apartment House's location and value for money, but is let down by the rather decrepit state of the apartment's decor and furnishings.
